Dr. Antoine Jasmine Hosts “Our Treasured Queens” A Women’s History Month Celebration

Our Personal She-roes

Dr. Antoine Jasmine and AMJ Worldwide:

Presents a Women’s History Month Celebration entitled, “Our Treasured Queens”. This unique celebration will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025. 2pm at Choice Event Place at 516 East Airline Hwy LaPlace, LA 70068. There guests will honor many of our own personal “she-roes” who have passed away but are never forgotten. These “Treasured Queens” may include but not limited to mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, mentors, godmothers, aunts, co-workers. With more being celebrated for their impact on their friends, family and community as a whole.

Treasured Queens

To commemorate the Treasured Queens, attendees are asked to bring their favorite pictures, mementoes and memories of these special ladies in order to commemorate the lives they’ve lived and the impact they’ve made even if they are no longer with us.

Special guests that will be in attendance include City of New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell

Dorothea Wilson of KLRT FOX 16. Dr. Debra Morton of Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church, singer Joanna McGill, and rapper Chyna Whyte.

When asked why this celebration is important, organizer Dr. Antoine Jasmine says, “I lost my mother during the pandemic. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of her and miss her. She was truly a powerful woman that made an enormous impact on the lives that she encountered.

This is my way to continue to honor her legacy and create a safe space for others to come together and celebrate the women that have impacted their lives as well.”

He continues, “many times when someone dies, there’s the immediate response from friends, family and supporters who offer their condolences and offer their support. However, after the funeral is over, the calls stop, the check-ins cease to exist, and those who have lost often have to pick up the pieces of their loss on their own, and eventually, even the most supportive family and friends start to move on with their lives and the memory of the deceased fades away.

It is my mission during Women’s History Month to celebrate the rich history that we have blessed in our own personal communities. Yes, it is always important to celebrate the public figures who are women who have changed history. With this initiative it is my hope that we can also celebrate women who may not have ever been in a newspaper or mentioned in a blog, but have been local heroes in their communities, even if it just for the people living in her neighborhood.”

Tickets to attend “Out Treasured Queens” Celebration are free and open to the public and can be found on Eventbrite.
