R&B’s newest multi-faceted singing sensation Jimmy Grey will be releasing his debut single, “Body” is now available for pre-order on Apple Music and Spotify. This smooth yet sensual summer grove is sure to make major waves in the world of modern R&B.

The Single

When asked about the new song, Grey says, “I want people to feel something real. Whether it’s nostalgia, love, pain, or hope, I want this song to hit them in a way that stays with them. Music has the power to heal, to bring people together, and to remind us that we’re not alone. If this single does that for even one person, I’ve done my job.”

Born in Detroit, the now Atlanta-based singer, songwriter and producer credits his father, Brandy and Usher along with his Motown roots for being a heavy influence on his modern sound. When asked about his new journey in music, he says, “This moment is everything. It’s a testament to the work, the passion, and the purpose behind my music. I’ve always known I was meant to use my voice to tell stories and connect with people, and now, I’m stepping fully into that purpose. From a young age, Jimmy was captivated by the art of performance, dreaming of the day he’d command the stage. His natural musicality led him to master multiple instruments, including the piano, cello, and French horn, giving his compositions a rich and layered depth that sets him apart. Determined to refine his craft, he attended Columbia College Chicago, where he immersed himself in the world of music and honed his artistry. 

Jimmy’s journey took him to New York City, where he gained firsthand experience working for major record labels and writing for some of the industry’s most influential artists. This period shaped his understanding of the business, but more importantly, it reinforced his purpose— bringing authentic R&B back to the spotlight.
