Freedom to choose Your Lipstick Color

There is another holiday worth celebrating in July other than the Fourth of July, Independence Day. It is a beauty holiday that we simply can’t miss… National Lipstick Day, on July 29th. It is a day we celebrate the versatility and power of lipstick. This is your chance to step out and do something different. Yep, I’m calling you out girlfriend.

What are you afraid of?

When I first started wearing lipstick, my go-to hue was berry. Berry lip colors are a safe color that looks good on any skin tone. Not bold. Not neutral. Just right in the middle of most women’s comfort zone. I don’t think there is a universal wrong or right lip color. I encourage you to try before you buy and wear whatever makes you feel confident in your skin.

Coco Chanel said, “If you are sad, add more lipstick and attack.” The best lip color is the one that looks good on you so you take action to be the best version of yourself.

Lip Liner: What Is The Right Color?

There are two options.

1. Flesh tone is an economical choice since you can wear a flesh-tone liner with ANY lip color. Therefore you will only need one liner for your rainbow of lipsticks.

However, there is another school of thought. Some of us prefer to have our lipliner match our lip color.

2. Matching our lip color is a more expensive option for those who like variety. There are four color families of lip color – reds, pink/mauves, plum/berries, and neutral/earth tones. So, if you want to coordinate your lipstick and lip liner, you would purchase at least four or more lipliners.

Whatever you do, it is great.🤗 Do you boo!

Lip Care Regimen

Our lips are organically dry because they don’t have oil glands. For soft, supple, and kissable do the following…

1. Remove the dead, dull, and dry skin from your lips with a sugar scrub two to three times a week preferably at night.

2. Then apply a lip balm with jojoba oil. Use balm as needed.

Why jojoba oil? Jojoba oil is the closest thing to the natural oil our body produces so give your lips what they like.

Many women are not fans of matte lipsticks because they are so dry.  You can avoid dry lips simply by applying a lip balm after your lip liner but before your lipstick.

Gel-based lipsticks are the best choice if you are interested in highly pigmented hues, lip conditioning, and long-wear ingredients.

Does this mean you can drink or kiss someone on the cheek without lipstick residue? No. Most stain-resistant lipsticks are alcohol based and will dry out your lips.
