A New Year. A New Cover. A Story That Will Move Your Soul.

In our January 2026 issue, actor Phillip Fornah shares his most vulnerable and redemptive story yet — an exclusive essay titled “Failure Was Never an Option — But It Was What I Was.”

From his family’s escape from war-torn Sierra Leone to folding himself into the front seat of a Toyota Prius, sleeping in his car on the streets of Los Angeles, Phillip gives us a brutally honest account of falling short, losing everything, and finding himself in the ashes.
