The R&B star will be greeting guests and showcasing his Hamilton Cornerstore grits, which in Atlanta, are served and sold exclusively at Morningbirds restaurant. Hamilton Cornerstore products were just announced on Oprah’s Favorite Things 2023 list and their top selling grits are included in the Morningbirds’ recipes. The grand opening events are open to the public on a first come first serve basis by reservation only and is sure to be a hit! |
Morningbirds’ menu is a concept where decadent Southern food meets English tea in an upscale whimsical environment. The menu highlights signature chicken & waffles, braised short ribs & grits, homemade syrups, fresh baked cinnamon rolls and fruit compotes over pancakes, waffles, or French toast. The restaurant’s unique tea service will also begin during the grand opening week. Nestled in the heart of Roswell, this restaurant is sure to be a sanctuary for food enthusiasts. With its contemporary design, warm ambiance, and delectable cuisine, Morningbirds Restaurant offers a unique and unforgettable dining experience unlike anything else in metro-Atlanta.

Wednesday, November 8, 2023 – An Exclusive Invitation Only Event
Thursday, November 9, 2023 – Guest Appearance by Anthony Hamilton and Chef April Robinson! Make sure you purchase a signature bag of their famous grits which they will personally autograph for you to take home. Hamilton Cornerstore will also feature additional products from Oprah’s Favorite Things 2023 list for sale during this event. Reservation only and a cover charge will apply.
City of Roswell Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 3pm. The restaurant will be open for normal hours and the ribbon cutting will proceed at 2:00pm.
Friday, November 10, 2023 – Grand Opening Celebration to host a law enforcement and fire department appreciation breakfast for policeman and fire fighters who work for the cities of Milton, Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Woodstock, Marietta, Sandy Springs, and Dunwoody from 7am – 10am. There will be a 20% discount with proof of employment. Reservation only.
Saturday, November 11, 2023 – Grand Opening Celebration to include entertainment and surprises throughout the day. The restaurant will also host an educator’s appreciation breakfast for any educator who work in cities of Milton, Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Woodstock, Marietta, Sandy Springs, and Dunwoody from 7am to 9am. Sunday, November 12, 2023 – Concluding the week, there will be a Sunday Celebration highlighting the restaurant’s catering, to go, and tea service offerings.

Anthony Hamilton may be known for his singing abilities, but those close to him know that he can also throw down in a kitchen. Growing up in Charlotte, N.C., Anthony Hamilton learned cooking from his family – mostly mothers and grandmothers. And like most southern families, the men in his family are also talented in the kitchen.
When he’s not on the road performing or busy in the studio, you can find Anthony at home with his children cooking. His favorite meals, shrimp or fish ‘n’ grits bring back fond memories of Saturday mornings full of cartoons and waking to the smell of buttered grits (we’re #TeamButter&Salt over here but you’re welcome to do what you please with yours)! He believes that grits are for the soul and we do too!
Chef April Robinson
Some 200 miles away on any given Saturday (or Sunday for that matter) morning at a similar table, Chef April Robinson would also probably be eating a bowl of grits lovingly prepared by her “Gramommy’.
And for her also, family was the biggest influence in becoming a chef. Between cooking and helping out around the house to having a restaurateur father, April was destined to make her own mark in the culinary world. Needing no introduction in the Lowcountry food scene, Chef April Robinson has been featured countless times in local magazines and newspapers and was a standout at the NYC Food & Wine Festival. Having done it all culinary, from being a private chef to athletes and owning both a bakery and tapas restaurant, she is excited to launch Hamilton Cornerstore. Chef April hopes to combine her love of good southern food by elevating your everyday essentials.
