Permission to Evolve: Becoming Requires You to Outgrow What Once Fit

There are seasons when the life you once prayed for no longer feels like the life you are supposed to remain in.

And that can be confusing. Because nothing may necessarily be wrong. You may simply feel different. What once satisfied you doesn’t anymore. What once felt comfortable begins to feel restrictive. What once felt like home begins to feel like somewhere you have already been.

And sometimes, instead of honoring what we feel, we criticize ourselves for it. Why can’t I just be satisfied? Why do I always feel like something needs to change? Why can’t I just stay where I am and be content? But what if the desire for change isn’t always a sign of discontentment? What if sometimes it is evidence of becoming?

You Are Allowed to Outgrow What Once Fit

Growth changes you. Healing changes you. Experience changes you. And when you change, it is only natural that some of the things surrounding you may no longer fit the same way. That doesn’t make the old season bad. It doesn’t mean you made the wrong decision when you chose it. And it certainly doesn’t mean you are ungrateful. It may simply mean that season served the version of you who needed it at the time. But you are not her anymore. One of the hardest parts of becoming is accepting that you cannot always take everything from your previous season into your next one.

Sometimes growth requires release.

Restlessness Can Be Information

We are often taught to silence restlessness. Be grateful. Be content. Stop looking for the next thing. And yes, there is tremendous value in gratitude and learning to be present.

But I also believe we have to become curious about what our discomfort may be trying to tell us. Not every restless feeling requires an immediate decision. But every persistent feeling deserves examination. Sometimes restlessness is revealing an area of your life that needs attention. Maybe you’ve stopped growing. Maybe you’ve been shrinking yourself to remain comfortable.

Maybe something you’ve tolerated for years no longer aligns with your values. Or maybe the woman you are becoming simply needs more room. You don’t have to immediately run from where you are. But you do owe yourself the honesty to ask: What is this season trying to show me?

Stop Comparing Your Becoming

Maybe you’ve been shrinking yourself to remain comfortable.

Maybe something you’ve tolerated for years no longer aligns with your values. Or maybe the woman you are becoming simply needs more room. You don’t have to immediately run from where you are. But you do owe yourself the honesty to ask: What is this season trying to show me?

Becoming Will Require Courage

There is something beautiful about becoming. But we don’t talk enough about how uncomfortable it can be. Because becoming often requires you to release certainty before you have clarity about what comes next. You may know something is changing without knowing exactly what the change will look like. You may feel finished with one chapter without having the title for the next. And that in-between space can feel unsettling. This is where self-trust becomes important. You don’t have to force clarity. You don’t have to make impulsive decisions just because you feel uncomfortable. But you also don’t have to silence yourself simply because the next step hasn’t completely revealed itself. Sometimes becoming asks you to remain open while the details unfold.

You Don’t Have to Make the Old Version of You Wrong

This may be one of the greatest freedoms of growth:

You can honor who you were while still choosing who you are becoming. You don’t have to hate the old job. You don’t have to regret the old relationship. You don’t have to criticize the old dream. You don’t have to despise the old version of yourself. She got you here. Honor her. Thank her. And when necessary, release her. Because becoming isn’t always about fixing something that was wrong. Sometimes it is simply acknowledging that you have grown.

Give Yourself Permission to Evolve

Maybe you need something different now.
Different surroundings.
Different relationships.
Different opportunities.
Different boundaries.
Different dreams.
Or maybe you don’t know what “different” looks like yet you just know something within you is changing.

Your Invitation

If you find yourself in a season of becoming, resist the urge to rush it but also resist the urge to silence it. Listen. Pay attention to what no longer fits. Notice where you feel expanded and where you continually feel restricted.

Ask yourself what you would choose if you weren’t afraid of disappointing people, starting over, or being misunderstood.

And most importantly, stop criticizing yourself for changing.

You are allowed to evolve. You are allowed to discover new parts of yourself. You are allowed to acknowledge that something which was once right for you may no longer be right for the woman you are becoming.

And if you desire support as you navigate change, reclaim your voice, trust yourself, and discover what authentic living looks like in your next season, Coaching with Charisse offers a safe and supportive space to walk through that becoming.

You don’t have to know exactly who you are becoming yet.

Just give yourself permission not to remain who you have already outgrown.

Stop Comparing Your Becoming

One of the quickest ways to distrust your own journey is to compare it to someone else’s. You look around and see people who seem perfectly content doing the same things, living in the same places, maintaining the same routines, and you wonder why you can’t seem to do the same. But their journey is not your assignment. Some people are called to deepen their roots in familiar soil. Others experience seasons that require movement, stretching, exploration, and reinvention. Neither is superior. The problem begins when you use someone else’s capacity for sameness as evidence that something must be wrong with your desire for change.

It isn’t.

Your responsibility is not to become more like them.

Your responsibility is to become more fully you.

Becoming Will Require Courage

There is something beautiful about becoming. But we don’t talk enough about how uncomfortable it can be. You don’t have to have every answer before you acknowledge what you feel. Give yourself permission to explore. Give yourself permission to question. Give yourself permission to become curious about the woman emerging underneath all the expectations of who you thought you were supposed to remain. Because you were never created to spend your entire life maintaining one version of yourself. You were created to grow.

Your Invitation

If you find yourself in a season of becoming, resist the urge to rush it but also resist the urge to silence it. Listen. Pay attention to what no longer fits. July 2026

The Grief of Becoming: Why Choosing Yourself Through Boundaries Doesn’t Always Feel Good (But Still Sets You Free)

There are moments in life that don’t feel empowering while they are happening. They feel heavy. They feel uncertain.

They feel like grief. And yet…they are often the exact moments where you are choosing yourself the most. July has a way of revealing this truth. It’s a season where life feels active, relationships feel present, and decisions feel more immediate. And sometimes, right in the middle of it all, you are faced with the quiet responsibility of maintaining your standards. Not the standards you post about. Not the standards you teach. But the standards you actually live by when it costs you something.

Choosing Yourself Doesn’t Always Feel Like Relief

We often expect that the “right decision” will feel instantly peaceful. Instantly clear. Instantly empowering. But real growth rarely arrives that way. Sometimes the right decision feels like sadness. Like loss. Like silence where there used to be access. Like detachment from something familiar.

And in those moments, many women question themselves.

“Did I do the right thing?” “Why does this hurt if it’s aligned?” But alignment is not always emotionally comfortable in the beginning. Sometimes alignment first feels like withdrawal from what you’ve outgrown.

Boundaries Are a Form of Self-Respect, Not Punishment

One of the most misunderstood parts of growth is boundaries. People often assume boundaries are about pushing others away. But in truth, boundaries are about bringing yourself back into alignment. A boundary is not rejection of others. It is protection of self. It is the moment you decide:

I will not abandon myself to maintain connection. I will not overextend to be understood. I will not shrink to keep access.

And that decision can feel uncomfortable especially when you are used to being available, accommodating, or emotionally flexible. But discomfort is not always a warning sign. Sometimes it is a transition signal.

Why the Right Decision Can Feel Like Grief

Grief is not only connected to loss of people. It is also connected to loss of patterns. Loss of expectations. Loss of versions of connection you once tolerated. When you begin choosing yourself differently, you are also releasing who you used to be in those dynamics.

And that version of you may have been:

  • more accessible than you wanted
  • more forgiving than you needed
  • more available than was healthy

So when you change, even in healthy ways, something inside of you is still adjusting. That adjustment can feel like grief. But grief is not regression. It is integration. It is your emotional system catching up to your new standard.

Standards Are Easy to Speak, Harder to Live

It is one thing to know what you deserve. It is another thing to enforce it in real time.

Because enforcing standards often means:

  • Sitting with silence instead of chasing clarity
  • Letting people misunderstand you without over-explaining
  • Choosing peace over access
  • Allowing endings without forcing continuation

And none of that always feels good in the moment.

But every time you honor your standard, you strengthen your relationship with yourself. And that relationship is the foundation of every other relationship in your life.

You Don’t Lose When You Choose Yourself

In the moment, it can feel like you are losing something. A connection. A possibility. A version of how you hoped things would unfold. But what you are actually doing is refusing to lose yourself again. And that is a different kind of win. Because anything that requires self-abandonment to maintain was never aligned with your becoming.

The Emotional Aftermath of Growth Is Still Growth

Just because you feel emotional after a decision does not mean it was wrong. Sometimes the emotional weight is simply evidence that you are evolving. You are no longer available for what you used to tolerate. You are no longer negotiating your standards. You are no longer choosing familiarity over alignment. And your emotions are learning how to adjust to that new reality.

Your Invitation

If you are in a season where you are learning to maintain your standards, honor your boundaries, and choose yourself even when it is uncomfortable, you are not doing it wrong. You are becoming someone who can be trusted with herself.

So give yourself permission to feel what comes up.

To grieve what is shifting. To stay committed to what you know is right for you. And if you desire support as you navigate boundaries, rebuild confidence, and strengthen self-trust in real time, Coaching with Charisse offers a space where you are reminded how to choose yourself without guilt. You don’t lose when you choose yourself. You return to yourself.

The Return of Self-Trust: Learning to Listen to Yourself Again

There is a kind of exhaustion that comes from constantly second-guessing yourself. Questioning your decisions. Doubting your instincts. Replaying conversations. Seeking reassurance before you move, even when something inside of you already knows. Many women don’t realize how deeply they’ve been conditioned to abandon themselves in small, almost unnoticeable ways. Saying yes when their body is saying no. Staying in alignment with expectations instead of truth. Ignoring intuition because it doesn’t feel “logical” enough. Silencing inner nudges because they fear being wrong. And over time, those small moments accumulate. You don’t just lose confidence you lose connection with yourself. June often carries a different kind of energy. Life is more active. Schedules are fuller. People are moving, gathering, traveling, deciding, and expanding. And in the middle of all that movement, something subtle often rises to the surface: “I don’t fully trust myself anymore.” Not in everything. Not always loudly. But in the quiet moments where you hesitate before choosing yourself.

Self-Abandonment Rarely Happens All at Once

Most women don’t wake up one day disconnected from themselves. It happens gradually. It begins in environments where speaking up wasn’t safe. Where emotions were minimized. Where being “easy to deal with” was rewarded more than being honest. Where survival required suppression. And so you adapt. You learn to read the room before you read yourself. You learn to consider everyone else’s comfort before your own clarity. You learn to question your feelings instead of trusting them. And eventually, self-abandonment becomes a pattern that feels like personality.

But it is not who you are. It is what you learned. And what is learned can be unlearned. Healing is not just about emotional recovery it is about restoration of trust between you and yourself.

Self-Trust Is a Core Part of Healing

There is a misconception that healing is only about release letting go, forgiving, processing, moving on. But healing that does not restore self-trust remains incomplete. Because even after the tears, even after the reflection, even after the growth if you still don’t trust yourself, you will continue outsourcing your inner authority.

Self-trust is the bridge between awareness and embodiment. It is what allows you to actually live what you’ve learned. Self-trust looks like:

  • Believing what you feel without needing external confirmation
  • Honoring your boundaries without overexplaining them
  • Recognizing misalignment early and responding accordingly
  • Stopping the cycle of self-betrayal in real time

It is not loud. But it is life-changing.

Learning to Listen to Yourself Again

Rebuilding self-trust is not about becoming perfect in your decisions. It is about becoming consistent in your honesty with yourself. Every time you pause before reacting and ask, “What do I actually feel?” you strengthen self-trust. Every time you honor your no without guilt you strengthen self-trust.

Every time you choose alignment over approval you strengthen self-trust. And slowly, something begins to shift inside of you. The overthinking starts to quiet. The need for constant validation begins to loosen. The fear of being wrong starts to lose its grip. Not because life becomes easier but because you are no longer abandoning yourself within it.

What Self-Trust Restores in Your Life

When self-trust begins to return, it does not only change how you think it changes how you live. Your decisions become clearer, not because you have all the answers, but because you are no longer disconnected from your inner knowing. Your relationships become healthier, because you stop overriding your needs to maintain connection. Your confidence becomes more grounded, because it is no longer dependent on external approval. You begin to move through life with a different kind of stability. Not perfection. Not certainty. But alignment.

And alignment brings peace that performance never could.

The Courage to Trust Yourself Again

Self-trust requires courage. Because it means you will sometimes choose differently than what others expect. It means you will disappoint people who are used to your self-abandonment. It means you will no longer betray yourself just to maintain comfort in relationships or environments. And that can feel uncomfortable at first. But discomfort is not always a sign that something is wrong. Sometimes it is a sign that something is finally changing. You are learning to return to yourself.

Your Invitation

If you have been feeling disconnected from your inner voice, this is your reminder that it is not gone. this is your reminder that it is not gone. It has simply been quieted by noise, pressure, and survival. You can learn to hear yourself again. You can learn to trust yourself again. You can learn to follow your own voice again. Start small. Start honestly. Start where you are. And if you desire support as you rebuild confidence, reclaim your voice, and strengthen self-trust in your daily life, coaching with Charisse offers a grounded and supportive space to help you return to yourself. You do not have to live disconnected from your own knowing. You only have to begin listening again.

You Are the Gift: The Stewardship of Self and the Responsibility of Becoming Who You Are

here is a truth many of us are only beginning to fully understand: You are not just living your life you are stewarding it. And more than that… you are a gift to yourself.

Not in a surface-level, motivational way. But in a deeply spiritual, intentional, and personal way that shifts how you see time, identity, and purpose. May often brings reflection. Spring is in full bloom. Life is active again. And in the middle of all the movement, there is a quiet invitation: How are you handling the gift of you?

You Were Never Meant to Be Wasted

One of the most subtle ways we disconnect from ourselves is through neglect not always dramatic neglect, but quiet neglect. Delaying rest. Ignoring intuition. Overextending to be accepted. Comparing our pace to someone else’s path.

Without realizing it, we begin to treat ourselves as if we are common instead of valuable. But the truth is, you are not a resource to be depleted. You are a gift to be stewarded. And stewardship requires attention. Care. Responsibility. And presence.

Comparison Is a Misuse of Your Energy

When you begin to understand yourself as a gift, comparison starts to lose its power. Because gifts are not meant to compete. They are meant to be used, nurtured, and expressed in alignment with their design. Comparison disconnects you from your assignment. It pulls you out of your lane and places you in someone else’s timing, rhythm, and journey. And in doing so, it quietly delays your own growth. Stewardship says:

I don’t need to be ahead. I need to be aligned.

Loving Yourself Is a Responsibility, Not a Luxury

We often talk about self-love as something soft or optional.
But real self-love is disciplined.
It is intentional.
It is consistent care for what has been entrusted to you.
It looks like:

  • Speaking to yourself with respect
  • Honoring your capacity
  • Making decisions that protect your peace
  • Choosing alignment over approval

Loving yourself is not indulgence. It is stewardship. And what you steward, you strengthen.

You Cannot Fulfill Your Purpose While Neglecting Yourself

Purpose requires your participation. But it also requires your wholeness. You cannot consistently pour from a place that is not being replenished. You cannot expand into calling while abandoning your needs. Every time you choose neglect over care, you are not just losing rest you are losing alignment. And alignment is what sustains purpose over time.

Stewardship Is How You Honor Your Becoming

ecoming is not accidental. It is intentional. It is shaped by daily decisions that either honor or ignore who you are becoming.

Stewardship means you are aware that:

  • Your time has value
  • Your energy has direction
  • Your voice has weight
  • Your presence has impact

And because of that awareness, you move differently. You slow down where necessary. You say no without guilt. You choose what supports your growth.

If you have been pouring into everything and everyone else, this is your reminder to return to yourself. You are not behind. You are not lacking. You are not in competition with anyone. You are a gift and gifts require care. Begin to steward yourself with intention. Begin to honor your pace. Begin to treat your life as something sacred, not accidental. And if you desire support in learning how to reclaim your voice, rebuild confidence, and live in alignment with who you truly are, Coaching with Charisse offers a space to guide you back to yourself.

Spring Within: What This Season Teaches Us About Soul Healing

April carries a different energy. The air softens. Trees begin to bloom again. What once looked bare and lifeless slowly starts to show signs of life. Spring reminds us of something powerful: renewal is natural. But while the world outside begins to blossom, many women quietly realize something inside still feels tired, heavy, or disconnected. And that awareness isn’t failure. It’s an invitation.

Nature Understands the Rhythm of Healing

Spring never rushes. The earth doesn’t bloom overnight. Beneath the surface, roots strengthen, soil shifts, and dormant life prepares itself for growth. Our souls follow a similar rhythm. Healing rarely happens in dramatic, visible moments. More often it happens quietly in reflection, in honesty, and in the courage to sit with what has been buried. Just like the earth, your soul sometimes needs seasons of restoration before it can fully bloom again.

When the Soul Needs Renewal

Many women are used to tending to everything except themselves. Responsibilities come first. Expectations come first. Everyone else’s needs come first. Over time, this disconnect can leave the soul feeling depleted. You may still be functioning, still showing up, still doing what needs to be done but something deeper is asking for your attention. Soul healing begins when you pause long enough to listen.

Healing Brings You Back to Yourself

True healing is not about becoming someone new. It’s about returning to the most authentic version of who you are. When the soul begins to heal, clarity returns. Your voice becomes stronger. Your boundaries become clearer. You begin making decisions from alignment instead of obligation. Like spring, healing restores what has been dormant. The joy that felt distant. The confidence that felt quiet. The sense of connection to yourself that may have been lost along the way.

Growth That Comes From Within

External success and internal alignment are not the same thing. You can achieve, accomplish, and perform and still feel disconnected from your inner life. Soul healing invites a different kind of growth. Growth that begins within. Growth that honors your emotional, spiritual, and personal well‑being. And when growth starts from the inside, it creates a life that feels not only successful but meaningful.

Your Invitation

As spring unfolds around you, allow it to remind you that renewal is always possible. Give yourself permission to slow down long enough to reconnect with your inner world.

Notice what your soul may be asking for rest, reflection, boundaries, or healing conversations.

And if you desire support as you nurture your healing journey, coaching with Charisse offers a compassionate space where women reclaim their voice, reconnect with themselves, and grow into the life they were designed to live.

Just like spring, your soul knows how to bloom again.

Whole Before the Calling: Healing Is the Preparation for Purpose

There comes a moment when growth is no longer optional.

Not because you suddenly want more.
Not because you feel inspired.
But because continuing without healing begins to affect how you live, lead, and serve. March is often when life begins to pick up speed. Opportunities present themselves. Purpose begins to tug a little harder.

And this is where many women feel the tension: They’re being called forward but parts of them can’t see clearly enough to move forward due to unhealed pain.

You Can’t Fulfill Purpose From a Broken Place

Purpose requires wholeness. Not perfection but integration. When wounds go unhealed, they show up in how we lead, love, decide, and serve.

We say yes when we should pause.
We shrink when we should speak.
We overextend to prove our worth.

Broken places distort discernment.

And without realizing it, we begin building our lives around coping instead of calling.

Healing isn’t something you do after you step into purpose.
Healing is what prepares you to carry it.

Why Being “Strong” Is Not the Same as Being Whole

Many women have mastered survival.

They function well.
They show up.
They get things done.

But functioning is not the same as living.

You can be productive and still fractured.
You can be capable and still disconnected from yourself.

Wholeness means your voice matches your values.
Your choices align with your truth.
Your actions are no longer driven by fear, fear of loss, fear of being seen, or fear of being left.

Healing restores coherence and alignment.

And this combination is what gives purpose longevity.

Healing Is How You Reclaim Yourself

Unhealed wounds don’t just hurt they mute.
They silence intuition.
They dull confidence.
They blur identity.

Healing is the process of gathering yourself back together.

It’s where you reclaim your voice. It is where you stop performing versions of yourself that were never sustainable. It is where you begin showing up as who you truly are not who pain taught you to be.

You don’t become someone new through healing.
You return to who you were before the damage.

Purpose Requires Capacity

Calling expands responsibility. And expansion without healing creates collapse. Wholeness increases your capacity to:

Hold vision without burnout
Lead without losing yourself
Love without abandoning yourself
Serve without resentment

Healing strengthens your foundation, so your life doesn’t crack under the weight of what you’re building.
Purpose doesn’t need a polished version of you.
It needs a present one.

Your Invitation

If you feel a deeper call on your life more clarity, more alignment, more purpose healing is not a detour. It is the pathway.

Give yourself permission to become whole.
To tend to what’s been ignored.
To listen to what your body, heart, and spirit have been asking for.

And if you desire support as you heal, reclaim your voice, and step into the life you were designed for, Coaching with Charisse offers a steady, supportive space to walk that journey.

You don’t have to rush into purpose.
You have to be whole enough to carry it.

Healing Beyond the Hype: Why Staying the Course Matters After January

January is loud.

It’s full of declarations, vision boards, fresh planners, and bold promises to do life differently. Everywhere you look, someone is starting over — new goals, new routines, new versions of themselves.

And while I love the energy of a fresh start, I’ve learned something both personally and through coaching women from all walks of life: real change doesn’t come from hype — it comes from healing.

By February, the noise quiets.
Motivation fades.
Old habits start whispering again.

And this is usually the moment people assume something is wrong with them.

But nothing is wrong.

This is simply where the real work begins.

Why Resolutions Don’t Last Without Healing

Many of us enter a new year trying to change behaviors without addressing the wounds underneath them.

We want to be more confident, but we haven’t healed rejection.
We want healthier relationships, but we haven’t healed abandonment.
We want discipline, peace, and consistency but we’re still carrying unprocessed grief, disappointment, and unmet expectations.

So when the excitement wears off, we default back to what feels familiar.

Not because we’re weak but because unhealed places will always pull you back to what they know.

Healing is what gives your goals somewhere solid to land.

Healing Is Not a Moment — It’s a Practice

One of the biggest misconceptions about healing is that it’s quick or linear.

Healing doesn’t happen because the calendar changed.
It doesn’t arrive just because you made a declaration.
And it definitely doesn’t mean you never have hard days again.

Healing is choosing to stay.

Staying present when old patterns resurface.
Staying honest when you’re tempted to perform strength instead of feel your feelings.
Staying committed even when progress feels slow or invisible.

This is where February becomes powerful.

Because February doesn’t come with applause.
It comes with quiet consistency.

The Importance of Remaining Steady After the Hype

Growth that lasts is built in the unseen moments.

It’s built when no one is watching.
When there’s no countdown.
No hashtag.
No external validation.

Remaining steady means:

Choosing self-awareness over self-judgment
Responding instead of reacting
Resting without guilt
Letting go of people, habits, and timelines that no longer align

Steadiness is maturity.
Steadiness is confidence.
Steadiness is healing.

And contrary to what we’ve been taught, ease does not mean you’re doing it wrong.
Sometimes ease is a sign that you’re finally aligned.

Healing Creates a Life You Don’t Need to Escape From

When healing becomes the priority, everything else begins to shift naturally.

Your standards become clearer.
Your boundaries become firmer.
Your decisions become more intentional.

You stop chasing change and start embodying it.

This is the work we focus on at Coaching with Charisse not quick fixes, but sustainable transformation.
Not pressure, but permission.
Not perfection, but presence.

So as January has ended, I want to invite you to something deeper than resolutions.

Choose healing.
Choose steadiness.
Choose the version of you that doesn’t need hype to keep going.

Because the woman you’re becoming doesn’t disappear when motivation fades, she’s revealed when it does.

Your Invitation

If you feel the pull to do this season differently not louder, not harder, but healthier. I invite you to commit to your healing.

Start by giving yourself permission to move at your own pace.
To check in instead of check out.
To choose alignment over urgency.

And if you desire support, accountability, and a safe space to heal, grow, and rebuild your confidence, Coaching with Charisse is here to walk with you.

You don’t have to rush your becoming.
You just have to remain.

I believe in you.
