Theme park tips for the summer

Theme Park Tips for a Fun Summer Visit

A friend asked me about some specific details on how to plan a surprise for her son to have a character meal at Disney. This made me think: how many are not prepared for theme parks in the summer? How many are “winging it” while battling the heat and long lines?
Here are five important things to know when visiting theme parks this summer:

Blog post about theme parks

1. Stay Hydrated!

Summer heat can be intense. If you are not from the area you are visiting, it could be a set up for a bad day. Carry a reusable water bottle and take advantage of water refill stations to stay hydrated throughout the day.

2. Get There Early!

Getting to the theme park before it opens allows you to enjoy popular attractions with shorter wait times. Early birds can maximize experiences before the crowds get there. This may not be true for Disney, as they have time slots when you purchase tickets to be in the park.

3. Dress Appropriately!

Take that bonnet off!!! Wear something lightweight and breathable. This goes for kids the most! Hats are also a great idea and sunglasses that you don’t mind getting lost or dropped when you are on rides.

4. Plan To Take A Break!

Don’t go hard for hours at a time. Put a little downtime in your day to rest and recharge. Hopper options and multiple ticket day options are for this! Don’t binge like you would your favorite show. Escape the heat.

5. Check the Park Schedule for Shows/Parades!

Many parks have special summer events. Look for showtimes and plan to get in position early for viewing especially the night shows.

Hope this helps you ensure a fun and enjoyable time in the park heat! Maybe for the next adventure….battle that heat on a cruise 🙂
