Who is Floyd Mayweather?
Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (born Floyd Joy Sinclair, February 24, 1977) is an American professional boxer. He is undefeated as a professionaland is a five-division world champion, having won eleven world titles and the lineal championship in four different weight classes. Mayweather is a two-time Ring magazine Fighter of the Year (winning the award in 1998 and 2007); he also won the Boxing Writers Association of America(BWAA) Fighter of the Year award in 2007 and the Best Fighter ESPY Award in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Mayweather is the WBC, WBA, WBO and Ring welterweight champion, and the WBC Super, WBA, and Ring junior middle weight champion. He is also rated as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world by many sporting news and boxing websites, including Ring, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, BoxRec, Fox Sports, and Yahoo! Sports. Mayweather topped the Forbes and Sports Illustrated lists of the 50 highest-paid athletes of 2012 and 2013, and the Forbes list again in 2014, listing Mayweather as the highest paid athlete in the world. Mayweather had also founded Mayweather Promotions in 2007, his own boxing promotional firm after defecting from Bob Arum‘s Top Rank.
Okay now you’ve read about who Floyd Mayweather is lets talk about what’s going on with the aftermath of his recent fight with Manny Pacquiao. Floyd is an African-American boxer and Manny is a Filipino boxer, but the problem I had was hearing AMERICANS cheer for someone who can barely speak english! It goes to show you how the world will judge you on who they think you are and the world will believe something negative about you before they believe something positive. Don’t get me wrong because there are several things that I don’t like about Floyd such as he claims to love a beautiful black woman but I have yet to see him with a REAL BLACK woman. I also don’t like how he brags about what God has blessed him with because there are too many struggling people in the world and he should be a little more humble. He has always acknowledged God but he needs to know what the bible actually says about boasting and bragging…… Proverbs 27:2 Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips. Jeremiah 9:23 Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, 2 Timothy 3:1-5 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
Now you know what I don’t like about him, so lets talk about what I do like about him. He is one of the greatest fighters of our time, he is brilliant in the ring and that’s all the world should care about! To hear BLACK people cheering for a foreigner made me sick on the stomach. It shows you how black people still have the crabs in a bucket mentality. Most of the hate comes from what he has materially, but guess what the hate just keeps making him richer and richer. The cocky attitude he has sells seats and he has truly capitalized off of it. We can’t take nothing from this man he took nothing and turned it into an empire. I have nothing but respect for this man’s hustle. While black folks are following him on social media just to post negative things on his page, he’s steadily being blessed and it goes to show you how God will prepare a table before you enemies and make your enemies (haters) your foot stool. He took the words right out of my mouth! When will black people be able to celebrate each other? It doesn’t matter Floyd Mayweather is a genius inside the ring and he is now a brilliant business man and he can truly say started from the bottom now we’re here. I’m a fan regardless of his attitude because I could careless about his personality, I just want to see him fight.
