J. Haynes
Raised in North Houston, J.Haynes stumbled into music by mistake, realizing he had a knack for rhyme in 2011 following an impromptu studio session with fellow Houston emcee Mista Shano.
In time he would strike out on his own – eventually stumbling into Atlanta’s booming indie scene – he quickly set himself apart from the pack with the 2013 release of All Or Nothing, featuring OG Mel, Team Stackz Keezy and more.
Drawing inspiration from artists including Childish Gambino, Nipsey Hussle, Ace Hood, T.I. – and Texas natives like DJ Young Hurk, Derrick McKinney and Chuck Cash Cow – he’s since hit the ground running, crafting a unique sound he describes as “southern with a bit of West Coast influence.”
After bursting onto the airwaves of Houston’s own TheCore94, a popular online radio platform, his music began to spread, thanks in part to an eclectic balance between the Bayou City and Atlanta’s renowned underground scenes. Now J.Haynes is ready to enter the big leagues, as he prepares to deliver a new EP titled Ain’t No Pressure: Volume 1 that includes the Lea Marie and Ashten assisted “Addicted,” as well as a banger featuring Kingpin Cash called “Bandz.”
No stranger to hard work, J.Haynes has hit the road, traveling across the country as his sound and fanbase has continued to grow in the south and beyond – thanks in part to the creation of his rising label, A-List Muzik Entertainment.
As anticipation for J.Haynes builds, one thing is for certain, you’ll definitely want to remember his name.
