As of today there are millions of men and women suffering from hair loss, and one of the main reasons in most cases is STRESS! Stress is harmful to the body period, but one of the side effects is hair loss. Another reasons for hair lost is a poor diet and lack of exercise, and I bet many of you didn’t know that poor diet and lack of exercise can cause damage to your hair. I know it’s easier said than done but don’t stress out constantly worrying about why you are losing your hair because this only adds more stress to your life and this will consequently cause you to lose more hair, so try to think of positive and put your energy into finding a way to improve your situation. Here are some simple ways to start you on a path to begin a healthy hair life style.

Exercising is a way to turn your hair loss around along with eating healthier. Here is a list of foods and exercises that you can do to promote healthy hair growth.

1.       Weight lifting 2 to 3 times a week will help release endorphins, which can help relax the mind.

2.       Yoga and aerobics is good for hair loss because deep breathing can help carry nutrients to the scalp and that helps promote hair growth.

3.       One of the most important things to promote hair growth is getting the proper amount of rest.

4.       Salmon is rich in protein, vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids are what the body needs to grow hair.

5.       Oysters are rich in zinc and a lack of zinc can lead to hair loss.

6.       Walnuts are the only type of nut that have a significant amount of omega-3 fatty acids, and they are also rich in biotin and vitamin E, which helps protect the hair.

7.       Sweet potatoes are a good source of antioxidant beta-carotene which the body turns into vitamin A, and it helps protect and produce the oils that sustain your scalp because being low on vitamin A can lead your scalp to being itchy and full of bothersome dandruff, other options are: carrots, cantaloupe, mangoes, pumpkin, and apricots.

8.       Eggs are a great source of protein, zinc, selenium, sulfur and iron. Iron is especially important because it helps cells carry oxygen to the hair follicles and too little iron (anemia) is a major cause in hair loss.

9.       Greek yogurt is high in friendly protein, vitamin B5, pantothenic acid, and vitamin D.

10.   Blueberries are loaded with vitamin C which is critical for circulation to the scalp and supports blood vessels that feed the follicles. Other options: kiwi, strawberries, and tomatoes.
